Greening your home is not only a great way to protect the environment and conserve our natural resources, but it can help you save money while increasing the value of your home.
As one of the few realtors on Staten Island with the National Association of Realtor’s GREEN Designation, I have enjoyed advising home owners who are looking to increase their knowledge on the issues of energy efficiency and sustainability.
Whether you are buying or selling your Staten Island home, this Staten Island realtor can assist you in making your home environmentally friendly. But, you don’t need to set up an appointment with Staten Island’s North Shore Expert to get all of the information you want on “going green,” because the EcoHouse is in town!
The EcoHouse on Staten Island
The EcoHouse is truly a unique experience. A feature of the Community Environmental Center, the EcoHouse is a mobile, cutting-edge exhibit that gives you a sneak-peek behind the walls of a truly environmentally friendly home. Not only will you learn how your Staten Island home or apartment works to keep your lights on, your water running and your house warm, but you will also learn how you can save energy and money and protect the earth around you just by making these systems work more efficiently.
This month, the mobile museum visits Staten Island’s North Shore at Neighborhood Housing Services of Staten Island, 770 Castleton Avenue, West New Brighton. Whether you are looking to buy a home, sell your home, or just invest in some upgrades to your home, this exhibit can show you how to implement simple green solutions without sacrificing quality (or your wallet).
The EcoHouse is sure to inspire you to make simple switches to your light bulbs, shower heads and cleaning products- or even make more complex upgrades to your heating systems or insulation. No matter what your age or whether you own or rent, a tour of a home that makes a difference will inspire you to make a difference as well.
When to Visit the EcoHouse
The EcoHouse will be open at Neighboring Housing Services of Staten Island from 9:00am to 5:00pm, now through June 28th. And, while you’re in the area, why not check out some of the beautiful North Shore homes for sale?
